Common Focus Can Help:
About Us

Common Focus is a non-profit organization committed to the building of community by creating dialogue that leads to action. Our commitment to create:

  • Common Focus — Through effective community conversations, the members of the community truly become its owners. It is the basis of solving community problems together.
  • Common Action — The passion and energy that move a person from talk to action.
  • Common Good — Community can be kept alive and vibrant when its members appreciate each other; when they have enough trust to solve problems together, and when its members share in the benefits of their work.

Faith & Community Building

At the heart of community are faith and the life of the spirit. The life of the spirit is not limited to religion or even to religious people, though much of the work of rebuilding community is the result of people motivated by religious faith. Common Focus has grown out of a belief in the power of Christ’s spirit in the world, but finds common ground with people of many faiths and also people of moral seriousness.

Building community is sacred work that is not really achieved. Community is not guaranteed, and the only hope of building and maintaining community depends on every asset being used and every member of the community being involved.
